From Garden State Parkway (North or South)
Take Exit 145 to Route 280 East. On 280 East, stay in
three left lanes and exit at
Newark/First Street. Make
right at exit ramp onto
First Street. First Street turns into Bergen Street
(Wendy’s is located on the right).
Continue straight on
Bergen Street to the next
light (Rite Aid
Pharmacy is located on your right.) and make a left
onto 12th
Avenue
and the
Dental School is approx. 200 yards ahead
on your right. [DO

From New Jersey Turnpike (North or South)
Take Exit 15W to Route 280 West. On 280 West, stay in
the right lane and when you
see a small
green sign on your right that reads
“Exit 13, Orange/6th St.” ,
immediately merge into right lane, leaving highway and
making the first right turn as you quickly come to a
stop sign at the intersection of
“ 5th and
Orange Streets”.
Make a right onto Orange Street. Then, proceed to the
first light and make a right onto
First Street.
Proceed about half a
mile to
West Market St., where First St. becomes Bergen St.
(Wendy’s is located on the right).
Continue straight on
Bergen Street to the next
light (Rite Aid
Pharmacy is located on your right.) and make a left
onto 12th
Avenue
and the
Dental School is approx. 200 yards ahead

From Route 78 (East or West)
Take Exit 56 (Clinton Avenue). At the
end of the exit ramp, proceed straight on Hillside Avenue
and make a left at the second light (West Bigelow Street).
Go about three-tenths of a mile and turn right onto Bergen Street.
Proceed about 1.5 miles to
the traffic light at 12th Ave
(Rite Aid Pharmacy is located on the left)
Turn right and travel approximately 200 yards to
the New Jersey Dental School located on your right.

From New
York City
Take the
George
Washington
Bridge or the Lincoln Tunnel to the New Jersey
Turnpike. Follow directions to Turnpike and parking.
Take the Holland Tunnel to the NJ Turnpike (Exit 14) to
Route 78 West, and see Route 78 for directions and
parking.

Using Mass Transit
PATH and Amtrak rail lines and New Jersey Transit buses
and trains serve Penn Station in downtown Newark, about a mile from
the UMDNJ campus. The #21 and #34 buses stop at the
campus. Taxi service is available to and from Penn
Station and Newark International
Airport.

Directions to Norfolk St. Parking (Deck ):

Handicap parking is on
the street in front of the
Dental
School.
·
For Public Hearing Parking continue straight on
12th Ave. to the traffic
light at Norfolk Street and West Market Street.
Turn right onto Norfolk Street and
travel approximately 75 feet to the entrance to the
Norfolk St. Parking
deck on the right, which is across the street from the Science Park
High School.

You must advise the parking deck staff that you are parking for
the Assembly Public Hearing as you enter the parking deck.
GETTING TO THE
DENTAL SCHOOL:
·
After parking your car follow signs to the elevators to exit to
street level. Cross
the street and bear to the right and as you walk along the fence
to the parking lot turn left into the opening and go straight
ahead. Follow the
stone path to the tan and gray brick courtyard and continue
straight until you come to the Dental
School
on your right.
Follow the signs around the building to the entrance near the
front.
