An Act authorizing mayor's membership on authorities created by municipality and supplementing P.L.1983, c.313. (C.40A:5A-1 et seq.).
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the mayor of a municipality may become an additional voting member, "ex officio," of any authority created solely by that municipality for the balance of the mayor's term of office by filing a written notification to that effect with the authority and the Local Finance Board.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill would authorize the mayor of any municipality to become an additional voting member of any authority created solely by that municipality for the balance of the chief executive officer's term of office by filing a written notification to that effect with the authority and the Local Finance Board.
