SYNOPSIS

     Directs the Office of the Attorney General to develop fee schedule for discovery in municipal court; imposes limit on fees charged for discovery in certain cases.

An Act concerning municipal court records and supplementing Title 2B of the New Jersey Statutes.  

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.  The Office of the Attorney General in cooperation with the Administrative Office of the Courts is directed to develop a uniform schedule of fees for discovery documents in municipal court proceedings.  The charge for the discovery of written documents in municipal court proceedings shall not exceed the fees established by section 6 of P.L.2001, c.404 (C47:1A-5) when copies of documents are requested in person.  If copies of documents are not requested in person, an additional fee of up to $5 for the first three pages and $1 per page thereafter may be added to cover the administrative costs of processing the request.

 

     2.  This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT
