STATEMENT

This bill permanently designates November 3rd as "Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Day" in the State of New Jersey.

In 1991, the Legislature enacted N.J.S.A.36:2-23 et seq., which permanently designates the month of November as "Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month."  This bill amends that law to also permanently designate November 3rd as a specific day of awareness for Alzheimer's Disease, which continues to take a tremendous toll on the victims of the disease and their caregivers.
