SYNOPSIS
Extends transmittal date of fiscal year 2009-2010 gubernatorial budget message to Legislature to March 12, 2009.

An Act concerning the budget message to be transmitted by the Governor to the Legislature for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law to the contrary, the Governor shall transmit the budget message for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010 to the Legislature on or before March 12, 2009.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill extends the transmittal date for the Governor’s fiscal year 2009-2010 budget message from February 24, 2009 to March 12, 2009.
Current statute requires the budget message to be transmitted on or before the fourth Tuesday in February. Since 1990, budget message extensions have been granted at least seven times.
