Assembly Higher Education
A217 Allows gross income tax deductions for contributions by certain taxpayers to New Jersey Better Educational Savings Trust (NJBEST) Program and provides a State match for contributions to NJBEST accounts for families meeting certain income guidelines.
A255 Removes exclusion of "nonimmigrant aliens" from qualifying for in-State tuition rates at public institutions of higher education under certain conditions.
A263 Prohibits tobacco use in dormitory and other student residence buildings of institutions of higher education.
A396 Allows gross income tax deductions for certain contributions to NJBEST college tuition savings program.
A412 Makes various changes to tenure of faculty and other professional staff at State and county colleges.

A719 Requires Higher Education Student Assistance Authority to provide information on life insurance plans to borrowers of student loans and requires authority to contract with life insurance company to offer policies to borrowers.
A790 Requires four-year public institutions of higher education to have one veteran coordinator for every 200 veteran students; requires veteran coordinator to work with DMVA to ensure veterans have access to all available services.
A791 Makes supplemental appropriation of $1,000,000 to Department of State to fund Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory at Rutgers Agricultural Experiment Station.
A847 Establishes a loan redemption program for teachers employed in chronically failing schools.
A866 Allows nonimmigrant alien students who have applied for a green card to qualify for in-State tuition at public institutions of higher education.
A933 Provides NJ STARS II Program eligibility to certain students who attained an associate's degree through a joint program offered by a school district and a county college.
A992 Clarifies that non-credit courses are eligible courses under the volunteer tuition credit program.
