with Assembly Floor Amendments

      These Assembly floor amendments provide that New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (commission) is not required to design, produce, issue, or publicize the availability of the Combat Action Badge license plates, or make any computer changes, until: (1) an individual or entity designated by the New Jersey Department of Military Veterans’ Affairs (department) has provided the commission with the money necessary to offset the initial costs incurred by the commission in establishing the Combat Action Badge license plate program; and (2) the department’s liaison, has provided the commission with a minimum of 500 completed applications for the Combat Action Badge license plates and the accompanying fees for the license plates.  The amendments provide that the bill, will take effect immediately but will remain inoperative until the first day of the 13th month, instead of the seventh month, following the date that the appropriate number of applications and fees required to offset the initial costs incurred by the commission are provided by the department’s liaison and the department provides the commission with the money necessary to offset the initial costs to establish the license plate program.  The amendments provide proper reference to the New Jersey Department of Military Veterans’ Affairs.
