ASSEMBLY, No. 3075

with Assembly Floor Amendments

(Proposed By Assemblywoman QUIJANO and Assemblywoman PINKIN

 and Assemblyman KARABINCHAK)

ADOPTED: OCTOBER 29, 2018

This floor amendment expands the scope of the bill to specifically authorize and encourage redevelopment projects to include the development of fueling and charging infrastructure for all types of zero-emission vehicles (ZEV).  As introduced, the bill encouraged municipalities to develop public electric vehicle charging stations when undertaking redevelopment projects.  The amendment retains this goal but expands upon it to encourage municipalities and redevelopers to consider including fueling and charging stations for various types of ZEVs when engaging in redevelopment.  The State needs to develop a network of fueling and charging stations for various types of ZEVs, including hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, in order to encourage consumers to transition to ZEVs.  As a Signatory State to the "Multi-State Zero Emission Vehicle Memorandum of Understanding," New Jersey has agreed to pursue the assessment and development of potential deployment strategies and infrastructure requirements for the commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.  This amendment will further that commitment.
