SYNOPSIS
Extends transmittal date deadline for fiscal year 2019-2020 gubernatorial budget message to Legislature from fourth Tuesday in February to March 5, 2019.

An Act concerning the budget message to be transmitted by the Governor to the Legislature for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law to the contrary, the Governor shall transmit the budget message for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020 to the Legislature on or before March 5, 2019.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill extends the date by which the Governor’s Fiscal Year 2020 budget message is to be transmitted to the Legislature, from the fourth Tuesday in February to Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Current law provides that the budget message is to be transmitted on or before the fourth Tuesday in February. Similar extensions have been provided in the past for the budgets of other Governors.
