SENATE, No. 2575

with Assembly Floor Amendments

(Proposed by Assemblyman KARABINCHAK)

ADOPTED: MARCH 25, 2019

These floor amendments provide that the individual who served as chairperson of the Anti-Bullying Task Force established pursuant to section 4 of P.L.2012, c.1 will serve as one of the eleven members of the task force established under this bill.  Under the amendments, the task force will include eight, rather than nine, members who have background in, or special knowledge of, bullying in public schools, and the Governor will appoint four of those members.  In addition, the amendments specify that the duties of the task force will include making recommendations on any appropriate changes to the regulations implementing the “Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act.”  The amendments also direct the task force to invite the participation of students and families who have experienced bullying in any public hearings held by the task force.
