STATEMENT

In July 2016, the State Board of Education adopted regulations regarding the testing for lead in drinking water in public schools throughout New Jersey (N.J.A.C.6A:26-12.4).  Under the regulations, initial testing was to be completed by July 13, 2017 and then within six years following the initial testing and every six years thereafter.  The results of these tests are required to be made publicly available on the school district’s website.

This bill requires the Department of Education to post, in a prominent location on the homepage of its Internet website, a hyperlink to school district water lead level test results.
