with committee amendments

The Assembly Judiciary Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 703.
This bill would permit certain union officials who represent probation officers, supervisors, and other related titles in the State Judiciary to participate in union activity, including: lobbying, the commitment of organization funds, and partisan political activity.
The committee amended the bill to clarify that it applies to union officers on full-time leave pursuant to N.J.S.11A:6-12 representing collective negotiations units which represent probation officers, supervisors, and other related titles in the Judiciary.
This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 2020-2021 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:
The committee amendments change the language concerning “members of collective negotiations units who represent probation officers, supervisors, and other related titles.” Under the amendments, this provision would read: “union officers on full-time leave pursuant to N.J.S.11A:6-12 representing collective negotiations units which represent probation officers, supervisors, and other related titles.”
