ASSEMBLY, No. 1708

with Assembly Floor Amendments

(Proposed by Assemblyman BURZICHELLI)

ADOPTED: JUNE 21, 2021

      This floor amendment:

      (1)  makes certain changes to the findings and declarations to clarify the intent behind and purpose of the bill;

      (2)  removes provisions of the bill that require reimbursement directly to the covered person only if payment by the employer, insurer, or health insurance carrier to the medical cannabis dispensary is not feasible;

      (3)  adds a provision to the bill that establishes a program to ensure that employers or workers’ compensation insurance carriers, private passenger automobile insurance carriers, private health insurance carriers, and health care practitioners are in compliance with the provisions of "Jake Honig Compassionate Use Medical Cannabis Act"; and

      (4)  includes a severability clause.
