SYNOPSIS

     Requires Commissioner of Corrections to institute 30-minute shift overlap in State correctional facilities.

An Act concerning shift overlap in State correctional facilities and supplementing chapter 1B of Title 30 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    In addition to the duties of the commissioner set forth in section 6 of P.L.1976, c.98 (C.30:1B-6), the commissioner shall institute in each State correctional facility a shift overlap of 30 minutes for the purpose of information dissemination between 1[corrections] correctional police1 officers beginning and ending their shifts.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect on the first day of the fourth month after enactment.
