     Requires DOBI to promote Consumer Inquiry and Response Center during coronavirus 2019 pandemic.

An Act requiring the Department of Banking and Insurance to promote the  Consumer Inquiry and Response Center during coronavirus 2019 pandemic.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    During the period of time following the Governor’s public declaration of a state of emergency pursuant to Executive Order No. 103 of 2020 until it is determined by the Governor that an emergency no longer exist, the Department of Banking and Insurance shall promote the Consumer Inquiry and Response Center. 

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill requires the Department of Banking and Insurance to promote its Consumer Inquiry and Response Center (CIRC) during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that individuals and providers know how to report issues, including but not limited to, issues related to telehealth coverage.  Through the CIRC, individuals may submit questions or formal complaints to the Department of Banking and Insurance and the Real Estate Commission.
