STATEMENT
This bill provides for a transfer between the titles of sheriff’s officer and sheriff’s investigator without a loss in seniority. The bill specifies that a transfer cannot cause an excess in the allowable number of sheriff’s investigators and that a person must be qualified for the position in order for a transfer to be approved by the sheriff.
Under current law, a transfer is permissible, but there is a loss in seniority for the employee.
