An Act concerning school graduation exercises in July and August of 2020.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, individuals attending school-sponsored graduation exercises between July 1, 2020 and August 31, 2020, who have graduated from the school or were employed by the school in the immediately preceding school year shall, for the purposes of insurance coverages afforded the school’s registered and enrolled student population beginning July 1, 2020 or for the purposes of insurance coverages afforded the school’s employees beginning July 1, 2020, be considered included in the enrolled and registered student population or be considered as a school employee, as applicable, while attending the graduation exercises.
b. As used in this section:
“Insurance” means, in the case of a student, student accident insurance and general liability insurance, and in the case of an employee, general liability insurance; and
“School” means a school district or charter school high school.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
