STATEMENT

This bill would require governing boards of public institutions of higher education to adopt their tuition and fee schedules for the following academic year during the Spring semester after the release of the Governor’s recommended budget.

This bill is intended to ensure that the adoption of a tuition or fee schedule by a governing board occurs during a time period when members of the college community are present on campus, so that they have a greater opportunity to be heard on any proposed changes to the schedule.
