SYNOPSIS

     Requires NJT to operate Access Link paratransit service during state of emergency under certain circumstances.

An Act concerning the Access Link paratransit service and supplementing P.L.1979, c.150 (C.27:25-1 et seq.).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    a.   The New Jersey Transit Corporation shall operate, or cause to be operated, its Access Link service in an area of the State under a state of emergency if the New Jersey Transit General Manager of ADA Services determines, in consultation with the Director of the State Office of Emergency Management, that Access Link service in that area may be safely provided without undue risk of harm to drivers and persons using the service.

     b.    As used in this section:

     “Access Link” shall have the same meaning as provided in section 2 of P.L.2016, c.25 (C.27:25-5c); and

     “State of emergency” means a natural or man-made disaster or emergency for which a state of emergency has been declared by the Governor.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.
