SENATE, No. 485

      The Senate Transportation Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 485.

      As reported, this bill requires the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (commission), upon a driver’s qualification for employment as a school bus driver and annually thereafter, to forward the complete driver history abstract of the school bus driver maintained by the commission to the school bus driver’s employing board of education or contractor, as appropriate, and the chief of police or other chief law enforcement officer of the municipality or municipalities wherein the school bus driver employed by a board of education or contractor operates a school bus.

      This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 2020-2021 session pending technical review.  As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
