The Senate Military and Veterans Affairs Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 61.
This bill provides that no professional or occupational board shall charge a license application fee to an applicant who is the spouse or dependent of an active-duty service member. The bill also removes the provision requiring the payment of a fee for the issuance of a temporary courtesy license. In addition, the bill provides that a professional or occupational licensing board shall include on any application for professional or occupational licensure a box for the applicant to indicate the applicant’s status as the spouse or dependent of an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces.
This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 2020-2021 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
