An Act concerning State school aid to certain school districts.

 

†††† Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

†††† 1.††† There are appropriated from the Property Tax Relief Fund such amounts as necessary to ensure that total State aid to a school district in the 2018-2019 school year is no less than the amount of total State aid received in the 2017-2018 school year in the following school districts:

†††† a.†††† Millstone Township School District;

†††† b.††† Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District; and

†††† c.†††† a school district in which the school districtís equalized property valuation per pupil is less than the State average equalized property valuation per pupil or the school districtís income per pupil is less than the State average income per pupil.

 

†††† 2.††† This act shall take effect immediately, but shall remain inoperative until the enactment into law of P.L.2018, c.†† , (pending before the Legislature as Senate Bill No. 2019 of 2018).

 

 

STATEMENT

 

†††† The bill provides a supplemental appropriation from the Property Tax Relief Fund to the Department of Education to provide additional State school aid to: 1) the Millstone Township School District; 2) the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District; and 3) a school district in which the school districtís equalized property valuation per pupil is less than the State average equalized property valuation per pupil or the school districtís income per pupil is less than the State average income per pupil.† The intent is to ensure that these school districts receive the same amount of total State aid in the 2018-2019 school year as they received in the 2017-2018 school year.
