      The Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 837.

      This bill requires health insurance companies to cover lead screenings for children 16 years of age or younger.  Under current law, health insurance companies are only required to cover screenings by blood lead measurement for children under the age of six.

      This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 2020-2021 session pending technical review.  As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
