SENATE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE, No. 3089

with Senate Floor Amendments

      These Senate amendments appropriate $58,000,000 to the Department of Law and Public Safety toward Grants-in-Aid to establish a New Jersey Statewide Body Worn Camera (BWC) program to support police departments in purchasing this equipment. 

      As reported by the Senator Law and Public Safety Committee, this committee substitute established a process for negotiating and bidding on contracts to BWCs and made a supplemental appropriation.  These Senate amendments remove from the bill provisions relating to contractual negotiations but preserve the $58,000,000 supplemental appropriation.
