SYNOPSIS

     Changes effective date of new law concerning certain State contracts for mental health, behavioral health, and addiction services.

An Act concerning the effective date of a new law on certain State contracts for social services and amending P.L.2021, c.1.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Section 5 of P.L.2021, c.1 is amended to read as follows:

     5.    This act shall take effect [on July 1, 2021] immediately and shall apply to all contracts entered into or renewed [on or] with an effective date after [the effective date] June 30, 2021.  Section 3 of this act shall expire on the 366th day following the end of the public health emergency [and state of emergency] declared by the Governor in Executive Order No. 103 of 2020 and as extended.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill changes the effective date of P.L.2021, c.1, which concerns State contracts for mental health, behavioral health, and addiction services.

     Currently, the effective date of P.L.2021, c.1 is July 1, 2021 and applies to all contracts entered into or renewed on or after that date.  This bill changes the effective date to begin immediately and to apply to all contracts entered into or renewed with an effective date on or after June 30, 2021.
