      The Assembly Appropriations Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 3505.

      This bill requires the Department of Labor and Workforce Development to assign an unemployment claims handler to each legislative district during the state of emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also requires the department to make view-only access to the unemployment claims system available to employees of legislative district offices, along with training on confidentiality and information security rules. The bill appropriates $1,800,000 from the general fund to effectuate its purposes.

      As reported by the committee, Senate Bill No. 3505 is identical to Assembly Bill No. 5371, which also was reported by the committee on this date.
