SYNOPSIS
Makes $5 million in federal funds available to Stockton University to support North Athletic Complex project.

An Act making federal funds available to Stockton University for necessary improvements to water and sewer infrastructure.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Subject to the availability of federal funds provided or made accessible to the State via federal block grant funds allocated to the State from the federal “Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund” established pursuant to the federal “American Rescue Plan Act of 2021,” Pub.L.117-2, $5,000,000 from such federal funds shall be made available to Stockton University for necessary water and sewer utility infrastructure improvements at the Stockton University North Athletic Complex.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill makes $5 million in federal funds available for water and sewer utility construction at the Stockton University North Athletic Complex. These funds will be utilized to connect Stockton University athletic facilities to local sewer and water systems. Stockton University is currently engaged in a multi-phase expansion of its North Athletic Complex. This project includes the construction of a new field house and pavilion containing an athletic training facility, public restrooms, locker rooms and academic support space.
The funding provided by this bill would be allocated from federal block grant funds awarded to New Jersey from the “Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund” established by the “American Rescue Plan Act of 2021,” Pub.L.117-2. According to an estimate calculated by Federal Funds Information for States, New Jersey will receive a formula-based allocation of $6.434 billion from the “Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund.” Federal law permits states to use these block grant funds to make necessary investments in water, sewer, or broadband infrastructure, among other purposes.
