An Act concerning Medicaid recipients and supplementing Title 30 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. An identification card issued by the Department of Human Services which serves as proof of the card holder's eligibility to receive medical assistance shall contain a picture of the recipient to whom it is issued. In the event that an identification card is issued to more than one eligible recipient, the card shall contain a picture of the adult responsible for that recipient.
2. The Commissioner of Human Services shall, pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Act," P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.) adopt rules and regulations necessary to effectuate the purposes of this act.
3. This act shall take effect 60 days after enactment.
STATEMENT
This bill requires that each identification card issued by the Department of Human Services to a recipient of medical assistance shall contain a picture of the recipient to whom it is issued. If a card is issued which indicates the eligibility of more than one person, it shall contain the picture of the adult responsible for the eligible recipient.
Requires photo identification for Medicaid recipients.
