      The Assembly Appropriations Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 28.

      Assembly Bill No. 28 appropriates $5,856,000 from monies made available pursuant to the "Green Acres, Clean Water, Farmland and Historic Preservation Bond Act of 1992," P.L.1992, c.88, for the purpose of providing loans to assist local government units, and private lake associations or similar organizations or owners of private dams (as co-applicants with local government units) , for the costs of the six dam restoration projects or inland waters projects set forth in the bill. The bill also sets forth eight additional projects that may be funded from the contingency amount and if any unexpended funds remain from the first six projects listed.

      This bill is identical to Senate Bill No. 1904.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

      The bill appropriates $5,856,000 from monies made available pursuant to the "Green Acres, Clean Water, Farmland and Historic Preservation Bond Act of 1992," P.L.1992, c.88, for the purpose of providing loans to assist local government units, and private lake associations or similar organizations or owners of private dams (as co-applicants with local government units), for the purposes described above. Of this amount, $5,046,081 is for the projects, $292,800 is for administrative costs, and $517,119 is the contingency portion.
