ASSEMBLY LABOR COMMITTEE

STATEMENT TO

ASSEMBLY, No. 326

with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: MAY 12, 1997

The Assembly Labor Committee reports favorably, and with amendments, Assembly Bill No. 326.

This bill makes a grant of $90,000 to the Botto House American Labor Museum, which is a national landmark located in Haledon, Passaic County. The museum is owned and operated by a non-profit organization and is seeking State support to help meet its operational and maintenance expenses.

The committee amendments provide that the appropriation will be made for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1998. As amended, the bill is identical to Senate Bill No. 793 (2R), reported by the committee at the same time.

This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 1996 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review which has been performed.
