with Assembly Floor Amendments

ADOPTED: JUNE 24, 1996

      These floor amendments add clarifying language to the bill's provision concerning when a child support order may be retroactively modified. Specifically these floor amendments make a change in language added by the Assembly Judiciary Committee on June 10, 1996 which limits the "other factors" which may be considered in determining whether the order would be unjust if not modified. Other factors would be limited to extraordinary circumstances and these floor amendments clarify that these extraordinary circumstances could be of a non-medical nature. The committee statement noted that fact but the sponsor believes this provision should be set forth in the bill itself.
