A Supplement to "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1996 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 30, 1995 (P.L.1995, c.164).

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.1995, c.164 and the general provisions contained therein, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sums for the purposes specified:

 

DIRECT STATE SERVICES

78 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

10 Public Safety and Criminal Justice

11 Vehicular Safety

 

  16-6410 Licensing, Registration and

             Inspection Services ................................. $2,320,000

        Total Appropriation, Vehicular Safety ......... $2,320,000

  Special Purpose:

    Restore State-Operated Status of All DMV

      Regional Service Centers ....................( $600,000 )

    Restore DMV Agency in Paterson .........( 385,000 )

    Restore DMV agency in Hamilton Township,

        Mercer County ...................................( 335,000 )

    Restore State-Operated Status of DMV Agencies

        Currently Under Contract With Private

        Vendors .............................................( 1,000,000 )

 

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.


STATEMENT

 

    This bill makes a supplemental appropriation of $2,320,000 for FY1996 from the General Fund to the Department of Transportation for Division of Motor Vehicles services.

    Specifically, the bill appropriates $600,000 to restore the State-operated status of Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) regional centers, $1,000,000 to restore the State-operated status of DMV agencies now operating under contract with private vendors, $385,000 to restore the DMV agency in Paterson, and $335,000 to restore the DMV agency in Hamilton Township, Mercer County.

 

 

 

Makes supplemental appropriation of $2,320,000 for FY 1996 from the General Fund to Department of Transportation for Division of Motor Vehicles services.
