An Act concerning fee increases by State agencies and supplementing Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. As used in this act, "State agency" means any of the principal departments in the Executive Branch of State government, and any division, board, bureau, office, commission, or other instrumentality within or created by a department, and any independent State authority, commission, instrumentality or agency which is authorized and empowered to charge a permit or application fee.

 

    2. No State agency shall increase the cost of a permit or application fee in excess of the increase in the federal Consumer Price Index for the preceding calendar year.

 

    3. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill provides that no State agency shall increase the cost of a permit or application fee in excess of the increase in the federal Consumer Price Index for the preceding calendar year.

 

 

 

Prohibits State agencies from excessively increasing the cost of permit or application fees.
