with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Assembly Consumer Affairs and Regulated Professions Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 677.

      As amended, this bill permits a retail motor fuel dealer or a franchisor to offer and furnish discount coupons. The bill originally permitted only retail dealers to offer and furnish discount coupons. In addition, the amendments specify that if discount coupons are part of a franchisor's promotion, a retail dealer shall not be obligated to participate in that promotion.

      This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 1996 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review which has been performed.
