STATEMENT

This bill makes a State Aid supplemental appropriation of $300,000 to Department of Community Affairs to the Borough of Red Bank for services the municipality is required to provide to an extraordinary number of tax-exempt properties. Red Bank is already the site of tens of millions of dollars worth of tax-exempt properties that service surrounding communities including churches, group homes, and soup kitchens. The aid provided under this bill would represent a recognition of that burden, which is expected to increase once Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital is closed.

Appropriates $300,000 to Red Bank for services to tax-exempt properties.
