An Act concerning certain retired PFRS members and supplementing P.L.1944, c.255 (C.43:16A-1 et seq.).
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a retired member who is receiving a retirement allowance may continue to receive the allowance after the member commences employment with any employer who was not an employer of the member before the member began to receive the allowance, except that the member shall not receive any credits toward the member's pension for employment with the employer who employs the member after the member starts receiving the allowance.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill provides that a retired member of the Police and Firemen's Retirement System who is receiving a retirement allowance may continue to receive the allowance after the member commences employment with any employer who was not an employer of the member before the member began to receive the allowance, but the member will not receive any pension credits for the post retirement employment.
Concerns certain PFRS retirees.
