An Act concerning State employees and supplementing Title 11A of the New Jersey Statutes.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. A permanent employee of the State who is offered the opportunity, in lieu of layoff, to transfer to the same or a comparable title, or to accept demotion to a lower title, within the layoff unit shall be allowed a minimum of 1[48] 241 hours during which to decide whether to accept a particular transfer or demotion.

 

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

 

Provides that State employee who is permitted to transfer or accept demotion in lieu of layoff will have 24 hours to decide whether to accept a particular transfer or demotion.
