STATEMENT

The aviation hall of fame and museum at Teterboro airport in Bergen county was designated as the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum of New Jersey pursuant to P.L.1979, c.123 (C.28:2-19). This museum, actually two separate facilities of which one part is in the airport control tower and the other part is in a small educational center on the opposite side of the airport, is difficult and expensive to operate and maintain on a daily basis because of its separate facilities. Consequently, the Board of Trustees of the museum has proposed a $600,000 building program to expand the educational center and thereby enable the entire museum to be located at a single location. To date, the trustees have raised $300,000 of the needed amount and this bill would provide a matching $300,000 to permit the timely expansion of this important educational, cultural and tourist center.

Appropriates $300,000 for Aviation Hall of Fame.
