An Act appropriating funds from the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Construction Fund" for the construction of a 300-bed secure juvenile correctional institution.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. There is appropriated to the Department of Corrections from the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Construction Fund" created pursuant to the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Construction Bond Act of 1989," P.L.1989, c.184, the sum of $12,000,000 for the following purpose:
DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
New Juvenile Institution.................... $12,000,000
Special Purpose:
New 300-bed juvenile institution... ($12,000,000)
Total Appropriation..........................$12,000,000
2. There is also appropriated from the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Construction Fund," such items as may be necessary to meet any expense incurred by the issuing officials under P.L.1989, c.184 for advertising, engraving, printing, clerical, legal or other services necessary to carry out the duties imposed upon them by the provisions of that act.
3. In order to provide flexibility in administering the provisions of this act, the Commissioner of Corrections may apply to the Director of the Division of Budget and Accounting in the Department of the Treasury for permission to transfer a part of any item to any other item within the respective department accounts in the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Construction Fund". The
transfers shall be made in a manner consistent with section 29 of P.L.1989, c.184.
4. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill would appropriate $12,000,000 to the Department of Corrections from the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Construction Fund" created pursuant to the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Construction Bond Act of 1989," P.L.1989, c.184. These funds would permit the department to construct a new 300-bed secure juvenile correctional institution.
Appropriates $12 million in bond funds for the construction of a 300-bed juvenile correctional institution.
