An Act concerning executive orders issued by the Governor and supplementing Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. Within 24 hours after issuing an executive order, the Governor shall transmit a copy of that executive order to the President of the Senate and to the Speaker of the General Assembly.
b. The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the General Assembly shall cause a copy of the executive order to be placed on the desk of each member of the Senate and the General Assembly, respectively, at the Senate and the General Assembly session immediately following receipt of the executive order.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill provides that, within 24 hours after issuing an executive order, the Governor shall transmit a copy of that executive order to the President of the Senate and to the Speaker of the General Assembly. The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the General Assembly shall cause a copy of the executive order to be placed on the desk of each member of the Senate and the General Assembly, respectively, at the Senate and the General Assembly session immediately following receipt of the executive order.
Provides for legislators to receive copies of gubernatorial executive orders.
