An Act providing for the recompilation of the statutes of the State of New Jersey.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. The New Jersey Law Revision Commission shall arrange for and supervise a recompilation of the general and permanent statutory law of this State into a single document which shall be presented to the Legislature by December 31, 1999 for its consideration. Such a document shall be:

    a. based on specifications the commission prepares for the recompilation after soliciting proposals from qualified law publishers;

    b. the result of bids solicited and received from qualified law publishers for recompiling the statutes and publishing the recompiled statutes; and

    c. the product of a contract awarded to the bidder who, in the opinion of a majority of the members of the commission, takes into consideration, among other factors, the sale price from completed annotated sets of the recompiled statutes, estimated time of completing the contract, quality of the work of recompilation, probability of timely and adequate performance and experience of the company regarding the services sought by the commission. The commission shall award the contract no later than December 31, 1996.

 

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.
