ASSEMBLY, No. 1225

with Assembly Floor Amendments

ADOPTED: MAY 8, 1997

      These amendments provide that no municipality may, for a period of one year subsequent to the termination of office of a member of the governing body, employ that member as a manager, chief executive officer or ordinance administrator of the municipality. Without these amendments, the bill prohibits the employment of a member of a governing body for a period of ninety days, and also permits employment of a member of a governing body as a chief executive officer of the municipality without a waiting period.
