ASSEMBLY, Nos. 1297, 1577, 1574 and 1571

      The Assembly Senior Issues, Tourism and Gaming Committee reports favorably an Assembly Committee Substitute for Assembly Bill Nos. 1297, 1577, 1574, and 1571.

      This bill prohibits the State Athletic Control Board from issuing boxing licenses to any person who tests positive for the human immune deficiency virus (HIV). The bill requires the board to issue rules and regulations governing the type of testing to be done to detect HIV and to implement the purposes of this act. The bill shall take effect immediately and shall be applicable to licenses granted after the effective date including renewals.
