An Act concerning State land acquired for transportation purposes and supplementing chapter 1A of Title 27 of the Revised Statutes.

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. The Department of Transportation shall annually prepare, and submit to the Governor and the Legislature, an inventory of the properties owned by the State of New Jersey and held for transportation projects which are not under construction. The inventory shall include the location and size of the property, the date and cost of acquisition, the purpose for which the land was acquired and the reasons why the property has not been used for that purpose.

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    The bill would require the Department of Transportation to annually prepare an inventory of properties owned by the State and held for transportation projects which are not under construction. The inventory would include the location and size of the property, the date and cost of acquisition, the purpose for which the land was acquired, and the reason that the property has not been used for the intended purpose. The department would be required to submit the completed inventory to the Governor and the Legislature annually.

Requires DOT to prepare an inventory of lands owned by the State and held for transportation projects which are not under construction.
