An Act concerning motor vehicle agencies and supplementing chapter 3 of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. Notwithstanding any law, regulation, directive or executive order to the contrary, the Division of Motor Vehicles shall maintain in operation a full-service motor vehicle agency within the city of Paterson

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    This bill directs the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to continue to maintain a full service motor vehicle agency within the city of Paterson. DMV has announced plans to close this agency. The closing, if carried out, would impose an unacceptable hardship on the residents of this State's third largest city, who depend on the services provided by this agency.

Directs DMV to maintain agency in Paterson.
