An Act concerning certain inspection fees and supplementing the "State Uniform Construction Code Act," P.L.1975, c.217 (C.52:27D-119 et seq.).

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. Notwithstanding any statute, ordinance, directive, rule or regulation to the contrary, a bonafide nonprofit organization organized for a religious, educational, social service or charitable purpose, as determined by rules established by the Commissioner of Community Affairs, shall not be required to pay a fee for the one-year periodic inspection and witnessing of tests of any manlift, stairway chair lift, or inclined or vertical wheelchair lift. 1The exemption granted by this act shall be limited to one such lift per organization per year.1

 

    2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall apply to inspections conducted after the effective date.

 

 

 

Exempts nonprofit organizations from wheelchair lift inspection fees.
