An Act concerning the State Commission of Investigation and amending P.L. 1968, c. 266.

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. Section 20 of P.L.1968, c. 266 is amended to read as follows:

    20. This act shall take effect immediately [and remain in effect until July 1, 1966].

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    Since its creation in 1968, the State Commission of Investigation has existed on a fixed term basis. The present authorization for the SCI is scheduled to expire on July 1, 1996. This bill would delete that date and establish the SCI as a permanent agency.

Establishes the State Commission of Investigation as a permanent agency.
