The Assembly Commerce and Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 1463.
This bill adds the Women's Army Corps Veterans Association, also known as the WACs, the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service Association, also known as the WAVES, the Women Marines and the Vietnam Veterans of America to the list of organizations whose duly authorized representatives are entitled under current law to a leave of absence with pay by their State, county or municipal government employer to attend a State or national convention of the organization. No person is entitled to more than five days leave of absence with pay each calendar year in order to attend a convention.
COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:
The committee amended the bill to include the Vietnam Veterans of America among the organizations whose representatives are entitled to a paid leave of absence from public employment to attend a State or national convention.
