An Act concerning the Task Force on New Jersey History and amending P.L.1994, c.146.

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. Section 7 of P.L.1994, c.146 is amended to read as follows:

    7. The task force shall report its findings and conclusions and any recommendations for legislation or administrative action to the Governor and the Legislature within 18 months [of] after the date of [enactment of this act] its first meeting , whereupon the task force shall dissolve.

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    This bill would amend the date by which the newly created Task Force on New Jersey would be required to submit its report to the Governor and the Legislature from 18 months after the date of enactment of the act that created the task force (which was December 2, 1994) to 18 months after the date of the first meeting of the task force. This bill is necessary to ensure that the task force, which was only recently organized in the latter part of 1995, will have sufficient time to complete its study and report.
