An Act concerning special license plates and supplementing Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. A military veteran who is the holder of a special license plate denoting a veterans organization or military award may affix to the license plate a red, white and blue insignia or decal which has been approved by the director. The director shall promulgate rules and regulations governing the use, design, materials and placement of the red, white and blue insignia or decal, and designating the special license plates on which it may be affixed.

 

    2. This act shall take effect 30 days after enactment.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill would allow a veteran who is the holder of a special license plate denoting a veterans organization or military award to affix to the license plate a red, white and blue insignia or decal, which has been approved by the Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles. The use, design, materials and placement of the red, white and blue symbols would also be subject to the director's approval.

    The bill would allow veterans to proudly display in red, white and blue the logo of a service branch or special distinction he or she had achieved.
